![]() A major review of the ICT Information Communications Technology training package has been approved at the June 16th Australian Industry Skills Commission meeting. The Case for Endorsement (CfE) involves fast tracked and updated training for the information technology (IT) industry’s workforce. It includes the update of four qualifications (consolidating 24 qualifications) and 272 units of competency; development of 53 new units and 9 new skill sets and; deletion of 38 units and 2 skill sets. The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) Emergency Response Sub‑Committee, established to provide a timely response to emerging industry training needs in the face of disruption brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, supported an expedited process to endorse the training package. The package contains 7 new skill sets in areas including cloud computing, cyber security, and data analytics and provides more flexibility for providers to address just-in-time training needs.
