Information webinars containing advice and tips from an expert panel may be found here: Individual Applicants: WA Training Awards Applications - Individual Categories - Webinar Recording Organisation Applicants: WA Training Awards Applications - Organisation Categories - Webinar Recording 2024 is the 30th anniversary of the WA Training Awards, which recognise and reward outstanding achievements of apprentices, trainees and vocational students, and the contribution to training made by trainers, training organisations and employers. The state Government is encouraging Western Australians to take advantage of a free pre-employment pathway that guides them into administrative and customer service jobs quickly to help meet the State's workforce needs.
The Digital Workplace Job Ready program provides training in organising data and records, producing documents and the use of different software applications. The program is designed to develop participants' confidence and ensure they are job ready for a wide range of business support roles. The program is delivered at North Metropolitan TAFE under the banner of its Koomba Birdal (Big Spark) program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Students are supported throughout their training by NM TAFE's Koolark Centre and the NM TAFE Jobs and Skills Centre. On completion of the course, students will be connected with opportunities to transition into employment. The program engages with employers, who have the opportunity to host a work placement student with the objective to transition into a traineeship. Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) is one of 10 national Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs) designed to provide leadership in addressing national skills and training needs. SaCSA, in partnership with FutureNow are hosting two dedicated roundtables for Western Australian based stakeholders from all areas of the Tourism and Hospitality sectors, and one in-person event for the Arts and creative industries. The Workforce Plan provides an opportunity to identify and address workforce challenges and skills and training needs. In addition to roundtables, meetings and stakeholder engagement SaCSA are also seeking Employer & Industry Peak input into the inaugural Workforce Plan Survey.
