Travel and Tourism

Tourism involves providing goods and services for people’s leisure and business activities when away from home. It extends from pre-trip services such as reservations to delivery of tourism products such as tours at the destination.
The Tourism and Travel industry typically comprises a workforce across travel agents, tour guides, adventure tour guides, visitor information centres, tourist attractions and cultural tourism operators.
Tourism is also the umbrella term for a vast range of associated sectors spanning accommodation, food and beverage services, conferences and events, transport (including cruise shipping, aviation, car hire, sightseeing transport), retail, sport and recreation services (including stadia and other sporting venues), International Education and the Cultural sectors.

This will involve visits to a number of High schools to promote careers in these industries. Please contact Birgit Smith on 0459 980 920 or bsmith@futurenow.org.au if you would like her to visit your school for a presentation.
