SkillsIQ, alongside the Racing and Breeding Industry Reference Committee (IRC), is currently updating the Certificate II in Racing Industry so that it applies to skills required across all codes, and the Certificate IV in Racing (Jockey) to reflect the expertise required to race thoroughbred horses.

innovative and flexible training solution that offers candidates and industry-recognised Swim Teacher qualification from the SIS Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package, and is a WA Department of Health approved qualification for swimming and water safety instruction. The course combines online learning, face-to-face instruction and on-the-job practical hours, and successful participants will gain the qualifications needed to work as a Swimming and Water Safety Instructor in Australia. Over two thirds of Australia’s senior secondary students are enrolled in a VET Delivered to Secondary Students course.
The VET Qualifications Register is updated annually to reflect industry advice around the suitability of available vocational qualifications for delivery to secondary students. The Register informing the 2022 school year has just been released, and incorporates advice gathered through FutureNow from the Creative, Leisure and Technology industries. View the Register The Federal government has announced that the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy scheme will be extended to the end of September, 2021. Through the subsidy, any business or Group Training Organisation that engages an Australian Apprentice between 5 October 2020 and 30 September 2021 may be eligible for a subsidy of 50 per cent of wages paid to a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee for a 12-month period from the date of commencement, to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter.
