![]() Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay A Business News article has highlighted WA's strong economic recovery, identifying a 91% increase in advertised job vacancies, with the Arts and Recreation sectors leading the way. The article states "there were 32,200 available jobs in WA in August, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics... up from 27,600 jobs in February and 16,800 jobs in May, when the pandemic had taken hold."
The Arts and Recreation sectors were among the hardest hit by labour market contraction when quarantine measures in April meant that Western Australians could no longer attend galleries, concerts, sporting tournaments or other events where people gather. Sensorium Theatre, Co3, RAAF, and the City of South Perth are some of the organisations with vacancies advertised currently, with the new WA Museum and PICA among those having recently recruited.
