Royal Life Saving National Drowning Report

The 2022 National Drowning Report by Royal Life Saving has been released. It shows a sad outcome with the highest drowning of children aged 5 to 10 in the past decade and the highest total drowning toll in 25 years. There is a call to ensure children are not missing out on vital swimming and water safety skills due to economic reasons. Royal Life Saving WA CEO mentioned one financial assistance method could be through increased funding of 'in-term’ swimming and water safety programs.
