To coincide with the 2023 International Women's Day, the Centre for Future Work and the Australia Institute released a report by Eliza Littleton and Greg Jericho on the current state of the gender pay gap in Australia. This report highlights that Australian women each week are paid over $3 billion less wages than men despite making up 48% of the workforce. In addition, while the gender pay gap has been shrinking since 1984, in recent years this progress has stalled. This report outlines the history and current state of the gender pay gap followed by future recommendations.
