Training and Education

Floristry training in Western Australia is delivered through nationally recognised qualifications in the Floristry Training Package. Courses provide practical, job-ready skills in floral design, product handling, customer service, merchandising, and workplace health and safety. Training prepares students, trainees, and apprentices to meet the workforce needs of florists across metropolitan and regional WA, supporting both small business operators and larger floral enterprises.

Floristry Training Package

The Floristry Training Package provides nationally recognised qualifications from Certificate I through to higher-level qualifications, equipping learners with the skills and knowledge needed to work in retail, events, and specialised floral services. Training can be delivered through institutional courses or traineeships, combining classroom learning with practical, on-the-job experience. Core skills include floral design, product care, customer consultation, merchandising, and workplace safety, preparing students and trainees to meet the needs of WA’s floristry workforce​

Jobs and Skills Council
Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) is the Jobs and Skills Council for the  Personal Services sectors.
SaCSA will identify skills and workforce needs for the Personal services sector, map career pathways across education sectors, develop contemporary VET training products, support collaboration between industry and training providers to improve training and assessment practice, and act as a source of intelligence on issues affecting the industry. SaCSA works closely with Jobs and Skills Australia, drawing on its workforce analysis and projections to plan for their industry sector and creating a consistent approach to addressing skill gaps.​

Institutional and Traineeships

Floristry training in Western Australia is delivered through a combination of institutional courses and traineeships, providing flexible pathways to gain nationally recognised qualifications. Institutional delivery offers structured classroom-based learning in floral design, product care, customer service, and merchandising, while traineeships combine practical on-the-job experience with formal study.
