Dear Colleagues, It has been my privilege and pleasure to serve as CEO of FutureNow since May 2015. However, I will be stepping down from this role on September 6th to pursue new opportunities.
During my time with FutureNow, I have loved working within the complex, challenging, and rewarding arena of workforce development and have been captivated by the wide-ranging and fascinating sectors that FutureNow represents. I have learnt about the ongoing evolution of work, how individuals learn and develop at all stages of life, and the transformation of the contemporary workplace in the context of digital innovation, multigenerational and diverse workforces, and the growing importance of knowledge, creative, and service economies. The exploration of occupational and workplace culture has been particularly interesting.
I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from FutureNow’s diverse array of industry, not-for-profit, community, education and training, and government partners. It has been an honour to work with successive Boards, and I would like to extend my special thanks to the Chairs and Deputy Chairs who have supported me: Barry Felstead, Ian Smith, Matthew Thomas, and Jane King.
I have also had the pleasure of collaborating with numerous talented and creative colleagues within the FutureNow team. I want to especially thank Ann-Marie Ryan and Melissa Harkins, who will continue to lead as Industry Development Managers. I also appreciate the professional and technical consultants who continue to support FutureNow’s work.
I am delighted to announce that the FutureNow Board has appointed Adam Denniss as the new Chief Executive Officer. Adam is a strategic planning and economic development professional with extensive executive experience across all levels of government and within the private sector. He is committed to the success and growth of industry and the socio-economic benefits this brings to communities. More information about Adam can be found here Adam will take up the role on September 2nd and can be reached at [email protected]. Thank you all for your generous insights and collaboration. Julie Hobbs Chief Executive Officer, FutureNow.
