FutureNow was represented by Tracey Farrow, Project Manager - Tourism & Hospitality who attended the event in support of Team WA, and in particular WA Apprentice of the Year, Geoff Franklin and WA School-based Apprentice of the Year, Taylor Wood. Both Geoff and Taylor have undertaken commercial cookery qualifications and were mentored by FutureNow for the Awards. Congratulations to Taylor who was awarded Runner-up in the Australian School-based Apprentice of the Year category.
WA-based Central Institute of Technology was named the Australian International Training Provider of the Year Training and according to The West Australian, Workforce Development Minister Dr Kim Hames said it was an outstanding achievement by Central Institute and a testament to the hard work and determination of everyone involved.
"Central Institute's approach is an excellent example of tailoring training and program strategy to meet student, industry and market needs," Dr Hames said.
