Spacecubed is a network of co-working innovation spaces at 131 St Georges Tce Perth. Since opening its doors in 2012 it has become one of Perth's most exciting hubs for the local technology start-up sector.
In 2014 the spacecubed team have their sights set on opening another collaboration and ideas space. Named ‘Fortyfive - Spacecubed Innovation Tower’ this latest project aims to inhabit 5000 sqm of space over five floors at 45 St Georges Tce, Perth.
Also coming up at spacecubed is the first start-up weekend of 2014 (Feb 21 – 23).
Start-up weekends enable budding entrepreneurs to put their ideas into action and develop skills over an intense 54 hour marathon weekend. Teams must develop their new products and business models in time to pitch their work to local business leaders who crown a winner at the end of the event.
While our local start-up community packs an impressive punch with an increased profile in recent years though initiatives such as spacecubed, public and private investment in tech-based start-ups in WA remains comparatively low in relation to international standards, signalling more resourcing is needed locally to make WA a more competitive tech-innovation business environment.
