The Paper proposes that to increase sport’s relevance in schools and the community, sport and physical activity must be delivered in a way that enhances children’s development and physical literacy needs, complements the needs of schools and families, and contributes to education objectives.
Feedback is sought on four proposed priority areas:
- Establishing principles for teaching sport and physical activity to children;
- Defining the competencies of people teaching sport and physical activity to children;
- Supporting the sports sector in the recruitment, training and development of a newly defined delivery network; and
- Co-developing a quality insights framework to monitor performance and support ongoing improvement.
