Service Skills Australia (SSA) is a not-for-profit, independent organisation, funded by the Australian Government to manage the nationally endorsed SIS10 Sports, Fitness and Recreation Training Package. They are currently undertaking continuous improvement of the Fitness qualifications to ensure the current and future industry workplace skills are captured in the new Standards for Training Packages set by the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC).

During March and April SSA will be consulting with industry, training organisations, government and other stakeholders on the proposed changes to the Community Recreation qualifications.
You are encouraged to engage and provide industry intelligence to promote the continuous skills development in industry. The discussions will centre around job outcomes, future skills requirements and current training gaps.

FutureNow would like to congratulate Mr Ian Blandthorn, for receiving an Order of Australia, Member (AM) in the General Division for significant service to workforce training and development in the retail, wholesale and personal services industries. Ian is the current Chairman of the Service Skills Australia Board of Directors and has been
a member of the Board since 2004. His involvement with Industry Training
Boards in Wholesale, Retail and Personal Services dates back to the early 1980s.

Spacecubed is a network of co-working innovation spaces at 131 St Georges Tce Perth. Since opening its doors in 2012 it has become one of Perth's most exciting hubs for the local technology start-up sector.
In 2014 the spacecubed team have their sights set on opening another collaboration and ideas space. Named ‘Fortyfive - Spacecubed Innovation Tower’ this latest project aims to inhabit 5000 sqm of space over five floors at 45 St Georges Tce, Perth.

A Certificate III in Catering Operations prepares student for working in the catering operations industry as a cook, catering assistant and food assistant.
