Since the Rudd Government's Productivity Places Program was introduced on 1 April 2008, more than 3,200 job seekers have completed their qualification. Today, over 35,000 job seekers have enrolled in the program and 19,200 people are currently in training. The Productivity Places Program is an initiative of the Rudd Government's $1.9 billion commitment over the next five years to deliver 630,000 training places to meet increasing demand for skilled workers.
