Boom Time for Western Australia's Apprentices and Trainees |

Education and Training Minister, the Hon Mark McGowan has released figures which show the number of Western Australians in a traineeship or apprenticeship has grown by 100 percent from 18,743 in February 2001 to 37,421 in May 2008. Increasing the number of trainees and apprentices is just one of a number of initiatives by the State Government to transform WA's training system to make it more flexible, responsive and efficient to better address the State's skills shortages.
