Western Australia Leads the Way in Training |

The Deputy Prime Minister and Employment and Workplace Relations Minister the Hon Julia Gillard and WA Education and Training Minister the Hon Mark McGowan have announced 1,000 new training places exclusively for up-skilling workers through higher level traineeships, while at the opening of a new $8.4 million printing and jewellery making facility at Central TAFE in Perth. WA is the first State to join with the Australian Government to deliver the training places under the Productivity Places Program, which will target traineeships at Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels.
The first round of training places will be available from July to the end of December 2008, with more places expected next year. From the 1st of July, businesses can apply to access training places for eligible staff and may be entitled to receive incentives from the Australian Government.
