IBSA Small Business Project Update |

IBSA is working on a project to explore how skill development activities might be made more relevant and appealing to small businesses. The starting point has been the identification of skills sets for effective mentors for small businesses, which includes both facilitation of individual learning and small business expertise skills. Part of the current work will involve the development of a mentoring program that will connect small businesses with skilling opportunities.

NTIS to be Replaced by New Training Website |

training.gov.au will become the new port of call for all training related information, replacing the ntis.gov.au and training.com.au websites. The new website is a joint effort between the Australian Government, state and territory governments and industry to ensure people have access to relevant training information through a suite of websites which will be collectively referred to as training.gov.au.

$37.5 Million in Indigenous Arts and Cultural Support |

The Hon Peter Garrett, Arts Minister and the Hon Jenny Macklin, Indigenous Affairs Minister have announced more than $37 million in funding for Indigenous arts, cultural, languages and broadcasting programs across Australia in 2008-9.
